Kenneth J. Bentley

A veteran of 22 years with IBM Corporation, Ken was selected for IBM's Executive Resource Program and led the development and launch of the AS/400 and RS/6000 computer systems — products that generated over $100 billion in revenue for IBM. He managed key portions of IBM Europe before being recruited to serve as President of Bonneville Telecommunications Co., and later led Equatorial Communications Corporation, a public company that developed and patented the first 12-inch digital satellite technology that evolved into today's DirecTV delivery systems. He subsequently founded IQU Corporation and served as President and CEO of Ameritech College, having successfully guided three companies from start-up through liquidity events. Ken held degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from Brigham Young University, with graduate work in Astrophysics.
Ken passed away in February 2025. Municipal Solutions is deeply grateful for Ken's invaluable contributions as a founding Board Member since our inception in 2003. His extraordinary range of experience in technology, international business, and executive leadership was a guiding force in building the firm we are today.

David J. Shaw

Shareholder at Kirton & McConkie and Chair of the Government & Utilities Practice Group, David specialized in telecommunications law, public utility regulation, software licensing, and municipal broadband policy. He negotiated landmark transactions with AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Google, Microsoft, Disney, and many others, and actively represented municipal broadband projects across the country including the Utah Infrastructure Agency and WiredWest. A nationally recognized authority on public ownership of telecommunications infrastructure, he was awarded the Fiber-to-the-Home Council's "Star Award" in 2005 and recognized as a Mountain States "Rising Star." David held advanced law degrees from the University of Utah and the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow) in IT and Telecommunications Law.
David passed away on June 8, 2020. Municipal Solutions is deeply grateful for David's vital contributions as a founding Board Member since our inception in 2003. His expertise, counsel, and commitment to public service helped shape who we are today.
